Through us, you now have a convenient and low-cost alternative to the expensive car hire in France and inflexible transport choices currently available.

Established in 1983, we are a family-owned company dedicated to serving Australians looking for car hire in France and Europe. Our business is based on a unique French Government initiative that allows non-residents of the European Union (EU) to lease a brand-new tax-free Citroen, Peugeot or Renault, fully registered and insured in their name.

Through us, you now have a convenient and low-cost alternative to the expensive and inflexible transport choices currently available.
Hire cars on offer range from the smaller hatch to the family-size people-movers, and can be booked for a minimum of 17 days to maximum of 180 days. You can also conveniently collect your car, and return it, from many locations throughout France and Europe.

Short-term rentals
If you need a car hire in France or Europe for a shorter period of time, we can easily arrange it for you through our extensive access to rental companies. We deal exclusively with Avis and Hertz, among many others. Please contact us for more information.

What is ‘Tourist Leasing’?
The French Government allows Citroen, Peugeot and Renault to lease brand-new vehicles to non-French residents, free of all duties and taxes, to encourage tourists to France. This means that you get the best-possible value for money – much less expensive than conventional car hire in France. The minimum lease period with Peugeot and Renault is 17 days and the maximum is 175 days, and with Citroen it’s a minimum of 23 days to a maximum of 180 days (approximately six months). Once your lease period expires, you simply return the car to your nominated drop-off point (choose from many locations throughout France and Europe) and your responsibility ends there – it’s that easy.

On receipt of your balance of payment, a copy of the contract will be forwarded to you with a letter of confirmation, including pick-up and drop-off location instructions and telephone numbers. The remainder of the contract will be sent directly to France to enable them to register your vehicle.

When you receive your copy of the contract (blue form), we recommend that you read the terms and conditions on the reverse.

Please note: we must receive your booking at least six weeks prior to the intended pick-up date. (In some cases, bookings can be made at shorter notice depending on vehicle availability and pick-up location.) For more information, see payment and cancellation details.

How and where do I collect/return my vehicle?
One of the best features about leasing a vehicle is the flexibility you have in choosing where to pick it up and return it.

All of our pick-up and drop-off points are centrally located at airports or in the business districts of major cities and towns. Extra charges apply for pick-up and drop-off destinations outside France.

To collect your vehicle, you’ll need to produce a copy of your lease contract (which will be supplied to you before you depart from Australia), your passport and a valid drivers licence (International recommended). In airports, cities and larger towns, the pick-up procedure should only take about 30 minutes.

Only the leasee (name as written on contract) can pick up and drop off the vehicle.

As your trip nears the end, you’ll need to phone your drop-off destination at least 48 hours ahead to reconfirm and arrange a time.

Who can drive my vehicle?
The minimum age for leasing/driving is 21 years, and you must hold a full licence with no upper age limit.

While there are no extra charges for additional drivers, the insurance policy covers the registered driver and his/her immediate family. These relatives are allowed to drive the vehicle without the registered driver in the vehicle. The registered driver must be in the vehicle whilst non-relatives are driving.

What about additional drivers?
The client can have additional drivers and there is no additional fee, however there are restrictions as follows:

– All additional drivers must fit the requirements of the program

– The registered driver must be in the vehicle at all times; EXCEPTIONS - For immediate family members, spouse, son or daughter who has the same surname and residential address as the registered driver. They may drive locally without the registered driver but under no circumstances can the family member take the vehicle across any borders or for lengthy periods without the registered driver in the car

What if I need help?
You are provided with 24-hour, seven-days-per-week roadside cover for your new vehicle. This comprehensive insurance coverage includes the following:

• Breakdown
• Road accident (collision with a third party and/or fixed or mobile obstacle)
• Theft or attempted theft
• Fire

For a full explanation, please see the terms and conditions on the back of your contract.

What about insurance cover?
Included in your leasing price is comprehensive vehicle insurance. This insurance covers the driver and the usual occupants of the vehicle. To see what is covered by insurance click here.

A copy of the insurance policy may be forwarded to you following an express request from the vendor. This contract is underwritten by the Supplier in the name of the leasee and takes effect on the day of delivery as specified in the contract at 00.00 hours and expires at 24.00 hours on the expiry date as specified in the contract.

What if I want to extend my trip?
If you want to extend your lease period while you’re still in Europe, simply contact the supplier’s (Citroen/Peugeot/Renault) head office in Paris, at least one week prior to the original expiry date. The head office can also arrange to extend the insurance policy to cover the extra time.

The daily rate for extending your lease period can be as much as twice the daily rate you paid when you originally booked, but for convenience, it’s a small price to pay. Arrangements can be easily made over the phone using your credit card.

Remember: you can extend your trip at the original daily rate if you do so up to two weeks prior to departure from Australia.

Is there anywhere in Europe that I can’t go?
